नंद ने नगर की गोपियों को देखकर उनसे पूछा, श्यामसुंदर कहाँ हैं? गोपी की आँखें बंद थीं, उन्होंने कहा कि श्यामसुंदर मेरे पास गए हैं। यह कहते हुए कि गोपी ने जैसे ही समय की इजाजत से अपनी आँखें खोलीं, वैसे ही श्रीराधे उनकी आँखों में झाँक कर मुग्ध हो गए। श्रीराधा एक इंद्रधनुष में दिखाई दे रही थीं, जबकि गोपी और श्यामसुंदर नंदभवन में दूसरी आंख से खेलते हुए दिखाई दे रहे थे। गोपी की दोनों आँखों में प्रिया प्रियतम स्पष्ट था।
